Chandigarh is crossed off my list of "Places to Visit" when I got the opportunity to visit there this summer. I had asked around and got a lot of suggestions of places to go to, what not to miss; and of course, restaurants or "dhabas" to visit. I discovered that this place is brimming with businesses in the food or meal delivery arena. Daily tiffins delivered to a customer at their homes or workplaces is HUGE in the market!
Among the many, I came across one which claimed to have a different and unique concept - a brand called StarChef. But hey. Who doesn't say they're different, offer the best quality that could be available, sugar, spice and everything nice. Yeah, you guessed right. I was a little skeptical. I mean, what could be new and different about a food provider/delivery service? Same old story, right?
Uh, apparently not in this case. I did some exploring and as it turned out, StarChef were more than just that! They aimed to make home-made food available to people like working professionals or college students who live away from home. Why? Because nothing beats food made at home! They have experienced home chefs in different parts of the city on board to make these meals.
Who are these people they got on board? - Well, these chefs are basically home makers who are passionate about cooking, learning new recipes and just keeping getting better at what they do! StarChef gives them a platform for this and promotes them to get them the appreciation and recognition that they deserve. This, I think, is a wonderful opportunity for people to step up and do something with what they love!
Home made food can't be beaten taste, health or quality wise, no doubt! A variety of such meals is what they wish to provide their customer with. And isn't this what we all need and would love to have? In short, StarChef bridges the two sides - one, with talented chefs who can and want to supply; and the other, with customers who demand and sometimes crave such food.
I visited their website (www.starchef.in) and their facebook page. After knowing more about it, I would definitely recommend it as something that's worth a try for the taste as well as the experience; and would keep people coming back; especially if you're someone who would enjoy a full fledged meal cooked to perfection or even for someone at home who would want to take a chill night-off from kitchen duty. All the typical everyday dishes plus mouth-watering specials, desserts and tempting offers- with guaranteed value for money? - When do I sign up?!
